SkimRegistrar

Developers

Inputs

Skimmed dataset (name and files - local PFNs)

Outputs

Registered DS: LRC registration and DS in DDM

Data for the bookkeeping, recording that the DS has been registered

Task Description

Register the skimmed dataset into the DDM system: define the dataset, register it (most likely in the local SE). A skimmed dataset should be considered complete by definition. The skim is a cut done in a well defined point in time on some data. If the data changes we have a different skim.

External Dependencies

  • Local replica catalog, DQ2
  • Publishing the metadata

Questions/Comments

  • Question:Jerry: There seems to be an explicit assumption that the skimmed datatset will always be registered into the DDM system. I think this should be optional and there should also be some verification checks performed on the skimmed dataset before it is registered. I agree with this -rwg.
  • Question:Jerry: Is the bookkeeping output passed to the SkimPublisher? Yes. -rwg
  • At what point in the registration process does this occur?
