Tier2 Data Services To Do

Introduction

This page is for planning the tasks to prototype and deploy the lists the Tier2 DataServices. It has lists with tasks done and to do. The goal is to plan future activity and document what has been done. Anyone involved is more than welcome to update/fix this documentation.

Done

• Prepared compute-1-30.local (Marty) - 6/1/2006
  • put outside from Condor resources
  • data disk cleaned (~ 100GB)
  • Rocks auto-reinstallation disabled
  • the machine is in the inside network only (but has 2 NICs)
  • but it has outbound connectivity (NAT)
• MySQL installed (Sasha and Marco) - 6/1
  • you can access it only from inside the tier2 cluster at UC for now
  • MySQL is installed in /usr/local/mysql (it is not in the path I think)
  • the DB is tier2tagdb and is located in /scratch/data
  • there is a tagreader user with no password
  • and a tagwriter user with password
• Prepared tier2-06.uchicago.edu (Marty) - (6/13/06)
  • host with 2 NICs, accessible from local and remote machines
  • put outside from Condor resources
  • data disk cleaned /opt (~ 100GB)
  • Rocks auto-reinstallation disabled
  • SLC3 installed
• MySQL installed on tier2-06 (Marco) - 6/17
  • accessible from inside and outside tier2 cluster at UC
  • MySQL is installed in /opt/mysql (link in /usr/local/mysql, it is not in the path I think)
  • the DB is tier2tagdb and is located in /opt/mysql/data
  • there is a tagreader user with no password
  • and a tagwriter user with password
