SBIR Statement of Work

Initial project development

• Definition of key test/validation processes, stack-ranked. [RG] 2/14/07: see front page for defined use cases.
• Decomposition of processes into endpoints/operations to be provided by UChicago resources ([ST],[PB]) as part of project work. This will involve wrappering/enabling some already-available components and creating some new components.

Development and Integration

• Selection of modeling methodology for representing test/validation processes as BPEL processes. ([PB],[MS])
• Generation/authoring of BPEL processes to execute those processes ([PB],[MS]).
• Additional work to instrument the engine and processes, potentially including enhancements to ODE. ([PB],[MS])
• Selection of dashboard tool, ideally using Intalio's existing integration with Hyperic or other functionality. ([all])
• Integration of instrumentation into dashboard format ([PB],[ST])

Infrastructure

• Setup of SVN (Subversion) repository for project specific code such as ValScripts [ST]
• Setup pacman cache and automated build scripts for releases. [ST]
• Setup of maven for release build http://maven.apache.org/. [PB]
• Provision Xen hosts for OSG services as the testing platform, including Globus web-services for job management, information service, and data I/O [PB]
• Provision of VPE hosting environment, including ODE engine, Postgres DB, apache server. {ST]

Package release

• Gather, package where appropriate, VPE components and scripts into self-contained downloadable package(s). [PB, ST]
• Provide associated twiki or web documentation for delivered services and components including installation and operation recipies, how-to's. [PB, ST]

Documentation

• Validation process conceptual design description, architecture, and component specfication [RG] 2/14/07: front page of twiki has the basic layout.
• Setup of collaborative twiki web for capturing project information [RG]
• Execute validation sessions generating operational and performance data, metrics. [ST]
• Final project report [all]
