GlobusOnline Setup

The following must be done before configuring GCMU:
  • Generate a ssh key pair ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 2048 -f gcmu
  • Create a Globus Online account
  • Run cat and copy the contents
  • Add key to Globus Online account by updating profile and going to 'Manage Identities' to add ssh public key

GCMU Installation

Make sure that you have access to the ssh key pair generate in previous section since you'll need it during the configuration process
  • Get GCMU installer. There may be a newer version available.
  • Untar the downloaded tarball in the final install directory (e.g. if GCMU should be installed in /usr/local/gcmu, untar the downloaded tarball in that directory)
  • Run ./install script from tarball
  • Choose option 3
    3. Create new Globus Online endpoint with GridFTP server associated with CILogon
       MyProxy OAuth server. The ePPN extension is mapped to a local UNIX account.
  • When asked for string that must match, hit enter to accept the default of /DC=org/DC=cilogon/C=US/O=University of Chicago
  • Answer Y when asked whether to make the endpoint public

Moving Installations

The GCMU installation can be moved from the install directory by
  • Moving install directory contents to final location
  • Update paths in /etc/xinetd.d/gridftp-go to point to new location
